Highlighting the complementary strengths of their economies, Couchino forecasted even stronger collaboration ahead. Post-2019 strategic partnership upgrade, economic exchanges have surged to nearly $5 billion, underscoring the vitality of their trade links.
India’s stature as the globe’s fourth biggest economy and Argentina’s sixth largest partner reflects this momentum. Couchino marveled at how recent years have seen India not only claim the title of the world’s most populous country but also solidify its role as an economic juggernaut.
‘PM Modi’s economic reforms and market-oriented policies have been game-changers,’ Couchino asserted, crediting them for uplifting crores to middle-class status. The year 2025 stood out with Modi’s historic Argentina visit, fostering optimistic exchanges with President Javier Milei.
On the defense front, India’s Ajay Kumar recently held talks with Argentina’s Lt. Gen. Carlos Alberto Presti, sealing intent for a swift defense pact. As both nations navigate global challenges, their evolving alliance promises enhanced trade, defense synergy, and shared growth trajectories, setting a model for South-South cooperation.
