In a spirited speech at Lohardaga’s BS College ground, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren hailed the state’s remarkable progress in sports arenas worldwide. Speaking at the finale of the Baldev Sahu Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament on Friday, he spotlighted how Jharkhand’s youth are consistently honoring the state through their achievements.
Drawing inspiration from MS Dhoni’s cricketing legacy, Soren noted how the icon has inspired generations. The state’s hockey prowess was equally lauded, with mentions of key players in the Indian women’s team, including its skipper.
Beyond popular sports, the CM revealed comprehensive policies designed to propel athletes in archery, football, and lawn bowls. He envisioned Jharkhand evolving into a powerhouse synonymous with sporting excellence.
Appreciating infrastructural upgrades at the venue, Soren thanked the state government and Dhiraj Prasad Sahu for transforming it into a future sports landmark.
Cricket luminaries Virender Sehwag and Harbhajan Singh graced the occasion as special invitees. The Chief Minister congratulated competitors and presented the winners’ trophy amid cheers.
