India’s organic sector is set for a major global spotlight with its designation as ‘Country of the Year’ at BioFach 2026. The announcement from the Commerce Ministry comes ahead of the fair’s February 10-13 run in Germany’s Nuremberg, promising an unprecedented showcase of Indian prowess.
Under APEDA’s leadership, India’s presence will be grander than ever, embodying the country’s deep-rooted farming traditions and its emergence as a powerhouse in organic supplies. BioFach, renowned as the planet’s top organic food and agriculture expo, has seen India’s steady rise over the past decade-plus.
The expanded participation mirrors the boom in Indian organic exports, fueled by worldwide appetite and active engagement from exporters, trade bodies, and FPOs. Covering 1,074 square meters, the national pavilion will host 67 partners ranging from private exporters to government commodity boards and testing labs.
Expect a tantalizing display of India’s organic bounty: everything from premium rice and pulses to exotic spices like ginger, turmeric, and cardamom, plus cashews, oilseeds, herbs, cinnamon, mango puree, and vital essential oils. Exhibitors hail from more than 20 regions, including powerhouses like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and emerging hubs in the Northeast such as Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur.
This diverse lineup celebrates India’s agro-regional richness, from Kerala spices to Himalayan herbs, while underscoring consistent export growth. BioFach 2026 offers India a prime platform to forge new partnerships, tap into premium markets, and reinforce its commitment to sustainable, chemical-free agriculture on the world stage.
