Noida’s fight against mobile snatching took a decisive turn as Sector-58 police arrested a hardened offender with a history of violent crimes. Rishabh Dayal, known as Rahul from Delhi’s Mayur Vihar Phase-3, was picked up at Ramleela Ground, Sector-62, thanks to sharp intelligence and surveillance tech.
From his possession, authorities seized two bikes—a Splendor Plus and FZ—implicated in several snatchings, 11 pilfered smartphones, and a prohibited knife. The modus operandi was straightforward yet brazen: cruising on a motorcycle, he’d yank phones from victims’ hands and vanish into traffic.
Among the haul, an iPhone-16 snatched two days ago from Sector-62’s Todd Mall Road stood out, linked to an ongoing FIR. Other devices trace back to Sectors 62, 63, 05, 24, and Delhi-NCR hotspots. Efforts are underway to identify owners and reunite them with their property.
This isn’t Rishabh’s first brush with the law. His criminal dossier boasts more than 26 FIRs across Gautam Buddh Nagar for looting, murder bids, illegal arms, receiving stolen goods, and gangster activities. Multiple imprisonments haven’t deterred him until now.
Police are digging deeper into his gang connections during custody. This arrest signals Noida’s robust policing strategy, blending human intel with digital tools to dismantle theft rings and restore public confidence in urban safety.
