In a stirring address at Jaipur’s National Institute of Ayurveda golden jubilee event, Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma affirmed the state’s profound Ayurvedic legacy and vast opportunities in medicinal herbs. ‘Ayurveda’s roots run deep in our land,’ he stated, pointing to the diverse flora in hills and forests as evidence of an enduring bond.
The state administration is aggressively pushing Ayurveda promotion, aiming to embed it in everyday life. Established as a college in 1976, NIA now stands as a leading deemed Ayurvedic university, renowned for its contributions across education, research, training, and healthcare.
Sharma celebrated the institute’s 50-year journey, calling its achievements a badge of honor for Rajasthan. He underscored Ayurveda’s global impact through yoga, its effective remedies for seasonal diseases, and the foundational insights from Vedic texts refined by luminaries like Charaka, Sushruta, and Vagbhata.
The CM highlighted PM Modi’s transformative push for traditional medicine, marked by the AYUSH Ministry’s creation, International Yoga Day, ramped-up research investments, and institutional growth. Efforts continue to mainstream Ayurveda with new hospitals, upgraded Panchakarma centers, modern dispensaries, and superior learning platforms.
‘Rajasthan’s biodiversity positions us as a powerhouse for medicinal plants,’ Sharma noted, envisioning a future where Ayurveda leads India’s wellness revolution. His speech resonated with attendees, reinforcing the blend of tradition and modernity in health care.
