In a blistering critique from Ranchi, BJP leader Pratul Shahdeo has accused Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi of compromising India’s security through his family’s alleged connections to Pakistan, branding it a dangerous obsession.
Drawing from Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma’s revelations based on an SIT probe, Shahdeo highlighted that Gogoi’s spouse made several undocumented trips to Pakistan, allegedly linked to agency work and financial transactions. ‘As a lawmaker, how does one justify bypassing official protocols for such visits?’ Shahdeo questioned sharply.
He urged Gogoi to come clean on the necessity of these travels. ‘Why this inexplicable affection for Pakistan that prompts repeated clandestine journeys? Congress’s Pakistan tilt is a direct peril to our sovereignty,’ Shahdeo warned, reflecting public outrage in Assam.
Shifting to demographic concerns, Shahdeo backed RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s call for larger families. Referencing studies, he explained that families with under two children lead to negative population growth post-parents’ demise. ‘Two kids strike the ideal balance for national sustainability amid rising single-child trends.’
Shahdeo also championed the UCC, crediting constitutional visionaries while criticizing Congress for fragmenting laws along religious lines for votes. ‘BJP fully endorses UCC to ensure equality.’
This multi-pronged assault underscores BJP’s strategy to corner Congress on patriotism, security, and social reforms, setting the stage for heated political debates.
