In a explosive accusation, BRS leader KT Rama Rao has called for a judicial probe into the fire that ravaged Hyderabad’s Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), claiming it’s a calculated move to bury evidence in the high-profile ‘vote-for-note’ scandal. Addressing reporters in Hanamkonda amid municipal poll campaigning, KTR painted a picture of conspiracy, timed perfectly as the case hurtled toward a verdict.
The fire’s peculiarities are alarming: a secure winter setup with zero staff on duty, despite 24/7 functionality, and wildly varying damage reports from the government. What started as ‘minor damage’ per officials morphed into total annihilation of 10 years’ worth of evidence, including 2015 records, as per the FIR.
Extinguishing efforts dragged on for over 3.5 hours in a multi-story structure with fire allegedly limited to the ground level. The toll? Around 50 computers, servers, and irreplaceable digital forensics gone. KTR emphasized this catastrophe impacts not just politics but thousands of criminal cases, risking justice for victims and freedom for felons.
Demanding central intervention, KTR wants a retired high court judge to spearhead an unbiased inquiry and top agencies to dig deep. He questioned the CM’s alleged Delhi-backed maneuvers and dared the DGP to lay all cards on the table if the police truly remains impartial. “This isn’t negligence; it’s sabotage,” he thundered, vowing BRS won’t rest until the plot unravels.
As public outrage builds, the forensic fire exposes deeper cracks in Telangana’s law enforcement trust. With evidence in limbo and culprits potentially shielded, the call for judicial oversight grows louder, promising a battle for truth amid political fires.
