In a vibrant address to the Indian community in Kuala Lumpur during his official visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi painted a picture of India’s meteoric rise on the world stage. Arriving in Malaysia for a two-day trip, PM Modi received a hero’s welcome from PM Anwar Ibrahim, who escorted him personally from the airport.
‘This warmth and friendship mean the world,’ PM Modi said, thanking Anwar for joining the event and sharing optimistic visions for India-Malaysia ties. The evening’s highlight was a record-breaking cultural extravaganza with 800 dancers mesmerizing the audience in unison.

Delving into economic triumphs, the Prime Minister spotlighted India’s position as the fastest-growing economy. ‘Make in India transformed us into the world’s second-largest mobile manufacturer. Defense exports jumped 30 times since 2014. We’re now the third biggest startup ecosystem globally, boasting the largest digital infrastructure and fintech revolution,’ he elaborated.
India’s solar capacity exploded 40-fold in ten years, shifting perceptions from a consumer market to an investment magnet. PM Modi celebrated the deep bonds with Malaysia, from shared cultural exhibits to the historic contributions of the diaspora in India’s independence, including INA pioneers who never set foot in India.
Praising their cultural preservation, he recalled highlighting Malaysia’s 500+ schools offering Indian language education to 1.4 billion Indians via Mann Ki Baat. This address not only boosted morale but also signaled robust future collaboration between the two nations.
