Raipur February 6, 2026/The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) of the Government of India has granted approval for upgrading Bilaspur Airport from 3C-VFR to 3C-All Weather Operations (IFR) category. Reacting to this important decision, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai described it as an important and far-reaching step towards the development of Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that with this approval, flight operations will now be possible at Bilaspur Airport in all weather conditions. This will strengthen regional connectivity and provide more safe and convenient air services to passengers.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the facility of all-weather operations will give new momentum to business, industry, and tourism activities in Bilaspur and surrounding areas. This decision will be helpful in encouraging industrial investment as well as creating new employment opportunities.
Chief Minister Shri Sai expressed his heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the people of the state to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Civil Aviation Minister Shri Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu for this important decision. He said that under the guidance and cooperation of Prime Minister Shri Modi, modern infrastructure is rapidly expanding in Chhattisgarh, taking the state to new dimensions of development.
Chief Minister Shri Sai expressed confidence that this achievement will provide a new direction for the economic, social, and industrial development of Bilaspur Airport as well as the entire Chhattisgarh, and will further strengthen the state on the national aviation map.
