In a hands-on approach to healthcare improvement, Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) Wednesday to monitor redevelopment progress. The inspection highlights ongoing efforts to revamp the aging facility into a premier medical center.
Kumar started at the Emergency Building’s Phase-1, scrutinizing radiology setups on the ground floor. Advanced equipment like high-end CT scanners and MRI units are being integrated, promising faster and more accurate diagnostics for emergencies.
Moving upwards, he inspected pediatric care units on the fifth floor, verifying amenities for young patients. A comprehensive review of campus-wide projects followed, with officials detailing milestones achieved and hurdles ahead.
The CM issued strict instructions on maintaining top-notch construction quality and safety protocols. He stressed the need for patient-centric design, ensuring seamless access to ultra-modern treatments. Residential quarters for medical staff, students, and faculty are also on the agenda.
‘Every visitor to PMCH should get world-class care without delays,’ Kumar remarked. The hospital’s expansion to over 5,400 beds will make it a cornerstone of Bihar’s health network, equipped with all contemporary medical technologies.
The visit extended to JP Ganga Path, where park enhancements and landscaping were evaluated. Key aides including Deepak Kumar, Pratyay Amrit, Lokesh Kumar Singh, and Kumar Ravi joined the CM, reinforcing governmental focus on health infrastructure acceleration.
