In a move blending devotion and dedication to progress, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta kicked off development projects exceeding Rs 135 crore in Mehrauli on Saturday. Her day included spiritual stops at the historic Yogmaya Temple and Gurudwara Baba Banda Singh Bahadur before unveiling the ambitious plans.
On X, Gupta articulated her dream of a developed Delhi, rooted in local enhancements. She highlighted Mehrauli’s stride towards modernity without compromising its rich legacy. ‘We’re connecting historical splendor with contemporary infrastructure, ensuring both preservation and progress,’ she noted.
Criticizing the previous AAP regime, she pointed out years of oversight on local heritage and needs. ‘They focused on flashy ads; we prioritize real service and governance,’ Gupta said. The new schemes aim at cleaner environments, stronger foundations, and safer, more respectable living conditions for citizens.
The ceremonies commenced with darshan at Siddhpeeth Mata Yogmaya Temple, a site of ancient spiritual significance. Gupta invoked the goddess’s blessings for familial well-being, underscoring the temple’s role in sustaining Delhi’s faith.
At the gurudwara, she bowed in reverence, praying for societal values of service and equality. The visit aligned with the auspicious Prakash Purb of Guru Har Rai Ji, adding a layer of festivity to the occasion.
This initiative reflects a strategic approach to urban renewal in Mehrauli, promising tangible benefits like better sanitation systems and upgraded public facilities. As Delhi marches towards comprehensive development, such constituency-level actions exemplify the government’s hands-on governance model.
