In a major development, the Bihar government has escalated the probe into the death of a NEET aspirant at a Patna hostel to the CBI level. Top state ministers have come out strongly, assuring the bereaved family of complete justice amid swirling controversies.
JD(U) spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad quelled fears, stating, ‘Rest assured, the victim’s family—the strictest actions will deliver justice, and the guilty will face imprisonment.’ Prior SIT efforts have gathered key video evidence and CDRs, setting a solid foundation for the federal agency.
Minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal highlighted the exhaustive initial scrutiny. ‘We left no detail unexplored, but vested interests are peddling false narratives against Bihar Police and the government,’ he noted. Responding to the Friday plea from the girl’s parents, the state swiftly approached the Centre.
Echoing resolve, Minister Lakhdendra Paswan asserted, ‘Justice is non-negotiable. Power offers no immunity from law. Proceedings target everyone implicated. Under CM Nitish Kumar’s NDA regime, fairness reigns—no protections, no witch-hunts.’
Minister Mohammad Jama Khan was succinct: ‘CBI’s involvement guarantees the truth.’
The incident has sparked outrage, with the young student’s death in hostel confines raising serious questions. Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary’s X post confirmed the CM’s request to the Union government. This shift promises an impartial unraveling of facts, restoring faith in the system as public scrutiny intensifies.
