A petty land squabble exploded into bloodshed in Patna’s Fatuha area, claiming two lives and leaving one gravely injured. The Friday morning attack in Rasalpur village has heightened tensions, with villagers on edge amid police deployment.
Rajvanti Devi (50) and Devsagar Singh (55), both shot multiple times, were declared dead on arrival at the hospital due to severe bleeding. The survivor, Rajan Prasad, is battling for survival at PMCH.
Eyewitness and victim’s son Jitendra Kumar revealed the roots of the violence: a long-standing rift between brothers Shravan Prasad and Rajkumar Yadav over a mere two inches of disputed property. ‘We were trying to talk it out when Rajkumar’s son Shivam pulled out a gun and fired indiscriminately,’ he said.
The bullets struck Rajvanti, her son Rajan, and local resident Devsagar, leading to the tragic deaths of the first two.
Post-incident, the accused escaped, sparking outrage among residents who rallied for justice and financial aid to the affected families. Heavy police presence now blankets the village to maintain order.
SP Kundan Kumar’s team scoured the site, seizing two pistols, a sword, and spent shells. ‘Investigations are comprehensive; no stone will be left unturned,’ he affirmed.
While officials claim stability, the air remains thick with apprehension. This case highlights how trivial matters can ignite deadly feuds, urging better mediation mechanisms in Bihar’s countryside.
