Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has issued a stern directive to the Lalu Prasad Yadav family in the ongoing Land for Jobs case, mandating their personal presence for charge framing. The accused include Lalu, Rabri Devi, Tejashwi, and Tej Pratap Yadav.
Exemptions were requested on grounds of age and health, but the judge provided a window from February 1 to 25 for compliance, insisting on prior notification.
Misa Bharti and Hema Yadav attended the proceedings and rejected the charges outright, signaling a prolonged courtroom showdown.
Trial proceedings kick off March 9, promising intense scrutiny of the scam where prime land was allegedly traded for railway postings under Lalu’s ministry.
This follows the court’s earlier nod to prosecute 46 named in the CBI chargesheet, dropping 52 due to insufficient proof. The case, rooted in Bihar’s job-for-land racket, continues to haunt the RJD patriarch’s political legacy, drawing sharp criticism from opponents.
