Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision for farmer welfare is gaining momentum through the transformative Chief Minister Krishak Dugdhagya Kalyan Yojana. Operational since 2019, this program has shielded over 108,000 farmers and their families from financial devastation following accidents, proving to be an indispensable armor.
The scheme offers comprehensive aid of up to ₹5 lakh for accidental deaths or disabilities. Marking a significant milestone, ₹873.58 crore was released in FY 2025-26, benefiting 18,145 individuals. This follows the expansive 2023-24 rollout, where ₹944.72 crore aided 23,821 landless farmers and laborers, newly included under CM’s guidance.
From its launch year, cumulative support has reached 1,08,098 families, injecting stability into village economies and preventing distress. To enhance delivery, the government is fast-tracking complete digitization. A state-of-the-art portal, powered by NIC, will handle everything from applications to direct DBT by February 2026.
Farmers will no longer endure bureaucratic hassles, as funds transfer straight to bank accounts, minimizing graft. Integrated with a monitoring dashboard, the system promises unparalleled transparency. This initiative not only cushions families in tough times but also reinforces Yogi government’s commitment to ‘Annadatas,’ ensuring their resilience against life’s unpredictabilities.
