Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s juggernaut came to a screeching halt as Delhi Capitals delivered a clinical performance in Vadodara’s BCA Stadium during WPL 2026 Match 15. The Capitals romped home by seven wickets, leapfrogging to second on the points table with their third victory in six games.
RCB, already playoff-bound after five straight wins, couldn’t maintain momentum. Sent in to bat, they faltered badly, bowled out for a paltry 109. Captain Smriti Mandhana top-scored with 38 runs from 34 deliveries, laced with six fours and a six, after an opening alliance with Grace Harris yielding 36 runs.
Post-Harris’s exit at 9, Mandhana paired with Georgia Ware for 26 more runs. Contributions from Ware (11) and Radha Yadav (18) offered brief hope, but the innings crumbled. Delhi’s attack was led by Nandini Sharma’s three strikes, supported by the duo of Chinelle Henry, Marizanne Kapp, and Minnu Mani with two apiece.
In reply, Capitals lost Shafali Verma and Lizelle Lee cheaply, slipping to 24 for two. But Laura Wolvaardt and Jemimah Rodrigues countered brilliantly with a 52-run stand. Rodrigues smashed 24 off 26 with four fours before falling, leaving Wolvaardt and Kapp to finish unbeaten with a 35-run partnership, achieving the target in 15.4 overs.
RCB’s Sayali Satghare snared two wickets, Radha Yadav one. This emphatic chase highlights Capitals’ depth, positioning them strongly for the playoffs while reminding RCB that consistency is key in high-stakes cricket.
