India’s smartphone market witnessed a powerhouse performance from Apple in 2025, as iPhone shipments rocketed 24% higher than 2024 levels. This surge reflects evolving consumer tastes favoring high-end devices amid economic optimism.
CyberMedia Research data reveals iPhones eclipsed iPads, with the former enjoying robust growth against the latter’s 2% gain. ‘Apple’s products are seeing unwavering popularity,’ noted CMR’s VP Prabhakar Ram, attributing stability in iPad sales to new model introductions that enhanced productivity appeal.
Breaking down iPhone success, the iPhone 16 series dominated with 57% of shipments, making it the undisputed bestseller. iPhone 15 secured 24%, iPhone 17 debuted strongly at 10%, and iPhone 16e added 6%.
The year closed on a mixed note: Q4 iPhone shipments slipped 3% year-over-year, but iPads countered with a staggering 95% leap. iPhone 16 held 50% in Q4, followed by iPhone 17 (24%), iPhone 15 (17%), and iPhone 16e (8%).
iPad 11 series commanded 68% annual share, surging to 76% in Q4. iPad Air 2025 took 21% yearly and 9% quarterly, with iPad Pro 2025 at 13% in the final quarter.
Apple’s foothold in India’s premium segment is firmer than ever, driven by innovative lineups and targeted manufacturing pushes.
