RANCHI: Jharkhand’s prominent minister Irfan Ansari traveled to New Delhi for a high-level courtesy call on Imran Pratapgarhi, head of Congress minorities department, on Saturday. Their talks covered pressing political matters and the welfare of minority groups across India.
Through a press release, Ansari detailed the focal points: the imperative to organize minority communities effectively in today’s polarized environment. He sharply criticized the BJP’s social media campaigns for confusing young minds and promoting divisive politics that erode democratic foundations.
A major agenda item was evaluating minority conditions in politically crucial states like UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, MP, and Chhattisgarh. Consensus emerged on expanding the party’s reach at the ground level to fortify its base. The leaders urged minorities to champion secularism and democratic principles.
Ansari reaffirmed Congress’s inclusive ethos, stating the party has always ensured parity and dignity for every community. This engagement comes at a time when opposition parties are intensifying efforts to consolidate support among key voter blocs.
Political analysts view this as a calculated move to synchronize strategies between state and national leadership. With elections on the horizon, strengthening minority outreach could prove decisive. The meeting highlights ongoing tensions over social media’s influence and the push for unity against perceived polarization.
