Chhattisgarh is gearing up to redefine India’s filmmaking landscape with the foundation laying of Chitrutpala International Film City in Nava Raipur’s Atal Nagar. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai spearheaded the ceremony on Saturday, marking the birth of what promises to be the country’s first truly world-class film destination alongside a Tribal & Cultural Convention Center.
A joint venture between Rajnandini Entertainment Limited and Inderdeep Infra Limited, this end-to-end platform targets film, culture, and creative sectors. Spanning 95 acres in its initial phase, it weaves together cinema studios, cultural venues, commercial spaces, tourism hotspots, and job-generating hubs. Backed by the central government’s tourism ministry, the project eyes long-term upliftment for local talent and communities.
Excitement in Bollywood circles is palpable, as films like Golmaal 5 eye the location for shoots post-launch. Strategic collaborators India Exposition Mart Limited and EPCH are enhancing the vision with state-of-the-art exhibition spaces, convention facilities, luxury hotels, business marts, helipads, and support amenities tailored for artisans, tribals, MSMEs, and young entrepreneurs.
The star-studded event included key ministers, MLAs, officials, and filmmaker Anil Sharma, signaling robust industry endorsement. ‘Our state’s narratives deserve a global stage,’ declared CM Sai, announcing Rs 150 crore for phase one and up to Rs 300 crore ahead, with completion targeted in two years.
Tarun Rathi, the project’s concessionaire, highlighted the all-in-one ecosystem offering cutting-edge tools for seamless production, poised to draw directors from across India. Beyond films, this development heralds a new era of inclusive growth, blending tradition with modernity to spotlight Chhattisgarh’s rich heritage on the world map.
