On the occasion of Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur’s jayanti, Bihar’s political leaders converged in Patna to celebrate the life of the Bharat Ratna awardee and ex-Chief Minister. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s presence highlighted the state’s ongoing dedication to Thakur’s socialist principles.

Reflecting on his time with Thakur, Ram Kirpal Yadav called him a beacon of sincerity and perseverance. ‘No one can replicate what he gave to the nation,’ Yadav asserted, adding that annual commemorations keep his spirit alive with great enthusiasm.
Santosh Kumar Suman stressed Thakur’s role model status for today’s generation, pointing to his advocacy for backward communities as a lesson in political ethics. Meanwhile, Sumit Kumar Singh lauded Thakur’s foundational role in social justice movements, with festivities echoing statewide.
