Delhi’s leadership is wasting no time preparing for the inevitable summer surge. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta held a comprehensive review with departmental heads at the Secretariat on Thursday, dissecting workflows, project statuses, and fiscal planning.
Key orders included uploading all high-value projects—those over Rs 5 crore—to the ‘CM-Progress’ monitoring portal within seven days. This step promises rigorous tracking and high-level scrutiny, attended by Chief Secretary Rajiv Verma and other top brass.
Public transparency took center stage as Gupta mandated continuous updates on departmental portals. She affirmed the government’s resolve: ‘Projects will meet deadlines, departments will be responsible, and citizens will get accurate info.’ Lagging initiatives must be wrapped up to high standards.
Excitement brewed around the soon-to-launch ‘Delhi Mitra’ portal, designed for rapid grievance handling. With directives for tech setups, training, and integrations, Gupta envisions it as a direct line for efficient, trustworthy service. ‘It simplifies and accelerates problem-solving for the people,’ she noted.
Summer readiness dominated discussions, with calls to fortify water, electricity, healthcare, infrastructure, and public amenities preemptively. The CM’s message was clear: ensure zero disruptions so Delhiites beat the heat comfortably.
Underpinning it all is a push for ‘performance-driven administration,’ moving beyond paperwork to deliver real-world results. Delhi’s governance model prioritizes deadlines, responsibility, and openness, setting the stage for effective public service.
