Hazaribagh’s law enforcers struck a decisive blow against the dreaded Rahul Dubey syndicate, capturing two operatives loaded with high-caliber weapons ahead of a terrorizing attack on a local coal firm. The dramatic arrests in Urimari area netted a carbine, two pistols, multiple rifle magazines, ammunition, a bike, and five mobiles, averting potential chaos.
According to SDPO Amit Anand, the gang’s ire was sparked by a colliery’s defiance against extortion demands on January 18. Brainstormed by Rahul Dubey and Ashish Saw, the plan involved firing to spread panic. The suspects scouted the site on a motorcycle, unaware that police intelligence had already mobilized.
SP Anjani Anjan, alerted to the brewing danger, deployed an SIT for intensive patrols. Rajdeep Saw fell into the trap at a hotel, yielding a loaded carbine, pistol, and bullets upon search. His disclosures led straight to Munika Kumari’s residence in Hendegir, where the raid uncovered the bulk of the cache: another pistol, ammo, AK-47 and SLR magazines, and the getaway bike.
With charges filed and the accused sent to jail, this operation exposes the gang’s operational tactics and hideouts. Hazaribagh police vow continued vigilance, analyzing the haul to trace weapon sources and dismantle the network. Such proactive measures are vital in curbing gangsterism that endangers Jharkhand’s mining hubs and communities.
