The Chhattisgarh police have successfully solved a murder mystery that was initially disguised as a hit-and-run accident in the Koriya district. The victim, identified as 15-year-old Ritesh Singh, was killed on his birthday by a close associate following a dispute over a phone call. The tragic incident unfolded after a birthday party at the Jhumka Dam, where a group of friends had gathered to celebrate. After the party, the group continued drinking in Patna, where the conflict began. It is reported that Ritesh informed the father of the accused, Vidyachandra Sahu, about Sahu’s presence and drinking, which provoked Sahu’s violent temper.
Following the argument, Ritesh began walking home, but Sahu reportedly used his car as a weapon, deliberately swerving to hit Ritesh from behind. The victim sustained severe trauma and was rushed to a nearby hospital by his friends, who then abandoned his body and fled the premises. Police suspicions were aroused by the nature of the injuries and the behavior of the companions. SDPO Rajesh Sahu led the interrogation of the friends, who eventually confessed to the actual sequence of events. The main perpetrator, Vidyachandra Sahu, is now in judicial custody, and the authorities are investigating the potential involvement of others in the crime.
