BJP MP Naib Singh Saini didn’t mince words during his address in Punjab, asserting that the Aam Aadmi Party’s rule has pushed the state into a downward spiral. From rampant drugs to fiscal mismanagement, Saini laid bare the failures of CM Bhagwant Mann’s administration just two years into its term.
The drug epidemic continues unabated, with Punjab reporting record-high seizures yet no dent in supply chains. Saini’s speech underscored personal stories of families torn apart by addiction, blaming AAP’s lax policing and porous borders. ‘Promises of a drug-free Punjab evaporated faster than their election slogans,’ he said.
Shifting to the economy, Saini decried the agrarian distress plaguing Punjab’s farmers. Delayed payments from procurement agencies, coupled with erratic weather and lack of support, have led to widespread despair. Factories shutter due to 12-hour power cuts, unemployment soars among the youth, and tourism suffers from poor infrastructure.
Saini also targeted AAP’s governance style, marked by frequent ministerial reshuffles and allegations of favoritism. Public services like hospitals and schools are understaffed, with patients traveling miles for basic care. He contrasted this with BJP’s vision of a ‘Viksit Punjab’ aligned with national development goals.
With political temperatures rising ahead of future polls, Saini’s offensive aims to erode AAP’s base. Supporters cheered his call for accountability, while AAP leaders dismissed it as election rhetoric. Punjab’s electorate, weary of promises, watches closely as the blame game unfolds.
