Fear gripped Balod district in Chhattisgarh as a pet dog, which had been missing for three days, returned and attacked multiple villagers. The dog inflicted injuries on approximately 12 people within a span of one hour in Naragaon and Narra. The victims have been transported to Dhamtari District Hospital for urgent medical care. Authorities have issued alerts to neighboring villages such as Narra, Barhi, and Bori, advising residents to exercise caution. The village council has directed that school entrances be kept closed as a safety measure. Deputy Sarpanch of Naragaon Gram Panchayat, Jagannath Sahu, highlighted the prompt medical response facilitated by the Panchayat Secretary. Data from Dhamtari District Hospital reveals a concerning trend, with 42 dog bite cases recorded in the first two weeks of January alone.
