The Shahganj police, acting on credible intelligence about an armed gang’s movements, mobilized a crack team under the cover of night. As officers approached the suspects’ den in a rundown godown, the criminals opened fire without warning, sparking a 20-minute battle that lit up the area with muzzle flashes.
