Jharkhand is set to experience a significant drop in temperature as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Alert for a cold wave affecting 13 districts across the state. This alert, announced on Tuesday, signals the potential for severe cold conditions in the coming days. The districts under the advisory include the western regions of Palamu, Garhwa, Latehar, and Chatra, as well as central areas like Ranchi, Ramgarh, Bokaro, Khunti, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Koderma, and Dhanbad. Meteorologists also predict the possibility of ‘Cold Day’ conditions in the state’s northwestern and adjoining northern central parts. Residents can expect dense fog, particularly during the early morning and late evening hours, across the northern regions of Jharkhand. On Tuesday, Ranchi and its surrounding areas experienced clear skies in the morning, accompanied by biting cold. Meanwhile, other districts reported fog late at night and in the early morning hours, with Ranchi’s humid areas also registering fog. Over the past 24 hours, the highest temperature was recorded in Chaibasa at 26.8 degrees Celsius, while Gumla recorded the lowest at a chilly 2.6 degrees Celsius.
