A two-day training camp and trial selection for the 17th National Jump Rope Championship concluded in Koderma. Organized by the Koderma Jump Rope Association at CPS Child Progressive School, the event aimed to select participants from the district for the upcoming national competition. This prestigious championship is scheduled to take place in Ranchi from January 9th to 11th. The camp provided intensive training and evaluation for aspiring athletes. The school manager, Taufeeq Hussain, inaugurated the event, emphasizing the importance of skipping rope for stamina, skill, and overall fitness for athletes across all sports. He highlighted that regular skipping is beneficial for everyone’s health. National trainer Prakash Sah, along with technical officials Anshu Raj and Anita Kumari, led the sessions, instructing around 30 athletes on various jump rope techniques relevant to competition standards. Anshu Raj also informed participants about the ‘Khelo India’ and CBSE initiatives that include jump rope, encouraging broader participation. Anita Kumari specifically motivated young girls, stressing the untapped talent in rural areas and the need for support. The Koderma Jump Rope Association announced that the list of selected players for the national event will be published in newspapers on January 4th.
