The family of Sharif Osman Hadi, Convenor of Inqilab Moncho, is demanding justice following his killing in Dhaka. His brother, Sharif Omar Hadi, has directly accused the Mohammad Yunus-led interim government, alleging their complicity in the murder and an attempt to disrupt the upcoming general elections. Inqilab Moncho previously issued a 24-hour ultimatum, calling for the perpetrators to be brought to justice before the national election and referendum. Omar Hadi emphasized that the interim government cannot escape responsibility for his brother’s death, vowing they will face consequences for failing to ensure his safety. He further claimed that authorities are attempting to exploit the tragic event to sabotage the February 12 general elections. Hadi’s family asserts that his dedication to holding elections on time and his preparations for the polls made him a target. Despite these allegations, Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus has reiterated the commitment to holding elections as scheduled. In response, the government has stated that the murder case will be expedited through the Speedy Trial Tribunal, with a directive to complete the investigation and trial within 90 days of the police report submission.
