The Bangladesh government has vehemently condemned the brutal killing of Dipu Chandra Das, who was attacked and set ablaze by a mob in Mymensingh on accusations of blasphemy. Education Adviser C R Abrar met with the victim’s family, offering condolences and assuring them of swift justice. Describing the act as a ‘heinous criminal act’ with no place in society, Abrar emphasized that religious differences or rumors can never justify violence. The interim government is committed to upholding the rule of law, and a thorough investigation into the incident is underway. So far, twelve individuals have been apprehended in connection with the lynching. The tragic event has sparked outrage and protests across India, with Hindu groups demanding accountability for those responsible and the protection of minority communities in Bangladesh.
