A major road incident occurred late Saturday night at Babantoli Chowk on the Tundi main road. A trailer carrying iron rods lost control and collided with an electricity pole situated by the roadside. The impact was so severe that the noise alerted nearby residents, prompting them to come out of their homes. Upon arrival at the scene, people witnessed the trailer severely entangled with the electricity pole. The collision caused two transformers connected to the pole to fall and sustain significant damage. An adjacent electronics shop also suffered damage as a result of the accident. Fortunately, power supply to the area was already disrupted at the time of the incident, averting a potentially catastrophic event. Had the electricity been active, there was a high risk of substantial loss of life and property. Following the incident, local residents promptly informed the electricity department. For safety precautions, the entire power line’s supply was shut down. The trailer driver fled the scene after the accident, leaving behind a severely damaged vehicle. The trailer was reportedly heading towards Giridih.
