Prime Minister Narendra Modi has officially inaugurated Skyroot Aerospace’s cutting-edge Infinity Campus and the Vikram-I orbital rocket. This significant event marks a new era for India’s private space industry. The expansive Infinity Campus, covering 200,000 square feet, is a comprehensive facility designed for the end-to-end process of creating launch vehicles, from initial design and development to integration and rigorous testing. During a virtual ceremony, the Prime Minister emphasized this as a groundbreaking moment, stating that India’s private sector is now making substantial advancements within the nation’s space ecosystem. He described the Infinity Campus as a testament to India’s evolving mindset, its commitment to innovation, and the potent energy of its youth. Modi reflected on India’s space journey, recalling its humble beginnings with limited resources and contrasting it with the nation’s current status as a creator of highly reliable launch vehicles. He highlighted that India’s space talent is increasingly sought after globally, positioning the country as an attractive hub for international space investments and a key player in the rapidly expanding global space economy. Skyroot, founded by IIT alumni and former ISRO scientists, has previously made history with the successful launch of the Vikram-S sub-orbital rocket.
