Tragedy struck in Palamu district, Jharkhand, where the body of a young man was discovered in a septic tank of an under-construction house in Paneribandh village. The victim, identified as Sudama Thakur, a resident of Sahdeva village in Patan, was found with signs of strangulation and severe injuries, suggesting he was bludgeoned with stones before his body was disposed of in the tank. A car was also found near the scene and has been seized by the police. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Sudama Thakur lived with his brother and sister-in-law in Paneribandh and operated a salon at Vivekananda Chowk in Shahpur. His brutal killing has sent shockwaves through the local community. Laborers and masons at the construction site reportedly discovered the floating body on Friday morning, prompting immediate notification of the authorities. Initial observations at the scene indicate a violent struggle, with facial injuries and signs suggesting the presence of other individuals and possible alcohol consumption prior to the incident. Police are actively investigating, reviewing Sudama’s call records and examining all available evidence to piece together the events leading to his death. His family reported that he left his salon to buy vegetables and never returned to his shop or home.
