A disturbing video has emerged from Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara Central Jail, revealing an inmate, identified as an ISIS terrorist and rapist, using a mobile phone and watching television. The footage, which has quickly gone viral, shows the prisoner seemingly enjoying considerable comfort within the jail premises, leading to public outcry and accusations of ‘five-star luxury’ being available to inmates.
The individual in question is reportedly Zuhab Hameed Shakeel Manna, incarcerated for his involvement in fundraising activities for ISIS. The video appears to show him with a smartphone, a stark contrast to the expected austere conditions of a correctional facility.
In response to the escalating concern, Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara has announced that the state government is taking swift action. He stated that officers found to be negligent have been suspended and disciplinary measures are being implemented. The minister emphasized that such incidents are not being tolerated and assured that a thorough investigation is underway, with a report expected soon. This move highlights the administration’s commitment to addressing security lapses within the prison system.
