Khunti police have successfully apprehended two individuals in connection with the near-fatal shooting of a local businessman. The incident, which left Shafiq Mian, a resident of Padampur, severely injured, occurred near the Akhara Maidan in Chhata village, under the jurisdiction of Karra police station. The arrested suspects have been identified as Shahid Mian and Modasir Ahmed, also known as Mo Raja Khan. Shahid hails from Baraik Toli in Karra, while Modasir is a resident of Haider Complex in Khunti. Authorities confirmed the arrests following an intensive investigation launched by a special task force. The attack took place on October 13th, with the victim sustaining gunshot wounds. During interrogation, both suspects confessed to the crime. They revealed that the motive behind the assault stemmed from an ongoing dispute with Shahid Mian over setting up a cosmetics shop in Rolaguttu village market. Following the suspects’ disclosures, law enforcement recovered a scooter used in the commission of the crime and two live cartridges.
