The prestigious Karnataka Rajyotsava Awards for 2025 have been unveiled, recognizing 70 distinguished individuals from diverse fields. Notably, acclaimed film actor Prakash Raj is among this year’s honorees. This marks a significant shift as the selection process was conducted without prior applications, relying instead on district-wise evaluations, social compliance, and the recommendations of a dedicated selection committee. This year’s awards also feature the historic inclusion of two talents from the Samagar Haralayya community, a first for the Rajyotsava Awards. No organizations were awarded this year, with 12 women making the distinguished list, some of whom had submitted their own applications. The awards span various domains including film, administration, medicine, literature, folklore, social service, arts, agriculture, media, science, cooperation, judiciary, education, sports, and fine arts, celebrating a wide spectrum of achievements contributing to Karnataka’s rich cultural and societal fabric.
