A widely circulated video allegedly showing BJP leader Vikul Chaprana engaging in a road rage incident in Meerut has sparked controversy. The footage depicts Chaprana and associates confronting two individuals, with accusations of threats and damage to a car. One victim, Satyam Rastogi, was reportedly forced to perform a humiliating act. Political parties have seized on the video, criticizing the ruling administration and highlighting it as an example of alleged arrogance and abuse of power by BJP officials.
However, eyewitnesses from the local area offer a contrasting narrative. Shopkeepers present at the scene claim that the incident escalated due to the alleged provocation by Satyam Rastogi. They described Rastogi as appearing intoxicated and initiating the confrontation by verbally abusing Vikul Chaprana. The situation reportedly worsened when Rastogi allegedly punched Chaprana’s car after a dispute over parking.
The police have confirmed that the incident occurred on the night of October 19 in the Tejgarhi area. Preliminary investigations point towards a parking dispute as the root cause of the altercation. A formal complaint has been lodged by the victim’s brother, Aditya Rastogi, and the authorities are continuing their inquiry into the matter.
