A recent discussion on infidelity has ignited social media, with actress Janhvi Kapoor taking a firm stance against both physical and emotional cheating. Appearing on Twinkle Khanna and Kajol’s show, Kapoor found herself in a 3 vs. 1 debate when the sensitive topic of cheating in relationships arose.
While co-hosts Twinkle Khanna, Kajol, and guest Karan Johar suggested that physical infidelity might not always be a relationship-ending event, Janhvi Kapoor strongly disagreed. She asserted that both emotional and physical betrayal are equally damaging and unacceptable. When Khanna attempted to downplay the impact of past infidelity with the Hindi idiom “Raat gayi baat gayi” (what happened, happened, move on), Kapoor countered, “Baat nahi gayi,” emphasizing that the hurt and consequences linger.
Further solidifying her position, Kapoor directly responded to Johar’s assertion that physical infidelity isn’t a dealbreaker by stating, “It’s already broken.” Khanna humorously suggested that Kapoor’s views might evolve with age, predicting her opinion could change by her 50s. However, the internet has largely lauded Janhvi for her principled stance, refusing to normalize any form of cheating.
