In a significant victory for security forces in Chhattisgarh, 50 Maoist cadres, notably including 32 women, have surrendered in the Kanker district. This large-scale surrender, which occurred at the Kamtera camp of the Border Security Force’s 40th Battalion, also saw the handover of 39 weapons. Among the surrendering cadres were senior leaders, including five DVCM-rank individuals and 21 ACM-level members. This event is considered a major blow to the Naxal network operating in the Maad region and is expected to provide a crucial morale boost for ongoing anti-insurgency operations. Officials anticipate further surrenders, with approximately 120 more Maoists expected to lay down arms in Bijapur district soon. Security agencies are actively pursuing community engagement to encourage more cadres to rejoin society.
