Telangana BJP spokesperson Prakash Reddy has sharply criticized the Mahagathbandhan alliance in Bihar, labeling it a “divided bandhan” rather than a united front as the state gears up for elections. Reddy stated that the opposition coalition, which includes the Congress party and RJD, is showing significant disunity, positioning the NDA against a fractured opposition.
“The so-called Mahagathbandhan is now not a gathbandhan, it is a divided bandhan. They are not united, including the Congress party, RJD, and other political parties. They are divided now. NDA is facing a divided gathbandhan, not Mahagathbandhan. People are observing it. I think Mahagathbandhan will lose these elections badly… They won’t come into power, that much is sure,” Reddy remarked.
He also targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, questioning his participation in the Bihar campaign. Reddy suggested Gandhi’s ‘vote chori’ padayatra was a misstep and that his current absence indicates an unwillingness to face scrutiny. “Rahul Gandhi was doing a padayatra for ‘vote chori’, now I don’t know where he is today. When people started asking questions about the allegation he made about ‘vote chori’, he started escaping from the Bihar….. I think his voice has no place, no value in Bihar politics. If there is anything, it is largely due to the RJD. However, RJD’s family members are making allegations against each other… People will not believe them… They have no faith in RJD or Congress,” he added.
Drawing a parallel with Telangana, Reddy accused the Congress of failing to fulfill its electoral promises. He asserted that this lack of delivery would be exposed in Bihar as well. “Congress made several promises in Telangana, but none of the guarantees have been implemented, and it is exposed here. The same exposure they are facing now in Bihar,” he explained. Reddy expressed strong confidence in the NDA’s victory, predicting, “On 14th November, NDA will form the Govt in Bihar.”
The 2025 Bihar Elections are set to be a primary contest between the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Mahagathbandhan. The Mahagathbandhan is led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal and includes the Congress party, CPI-ML, CPI, CPM, and VIP. The NDA is composed of the BJP, JD(U), LJP (Ram Vilas), HAM (Secular), and RLMO. Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj is also vying for seats across all 243 constituencies. Elections are scheduled for November 6 and 11, with results announced on November 14.
