Godda district has emerged victorious at the 4th Jharkhand State Taekwondo Championship, securing the overall championship trophy. The three-day event, held at the Staff Club in Urjanagar, concluded with Godda’s athletes showcasing exceptional talent. They clinched an impressive haul of 16 gold, 19 silver, and 8 bronze medals. This remarkable performance placed them firmly at the top of the state-level competition.
Other districts also displayed strong performances. Deoghar secured the second position with 8 gold, 7 silver, and 12 bronze medals. Hazaribagh followed with 10 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze. Dhanbad earned 7 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze. East Singhbhum claimed 4 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze medals. Chatra achieved 4 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze. Ranchi won 4 gold and 2 silver, while Bokaro secured 5 gold and 1 silver.
Approximately 250 athletes from across the state participated in this prestigious championship. The closing ceremony saw the distribution of medals and certificates to the winning participants. The event highlighted the growing strength and skill within Jharkhand’s taekwondo community, fostering a spirit of healthy competition among young athletes.
