A distressing incident has come to light in the Dhamtari district, where a wife took her own life due to escalating suspicion from her husband. The couple had been experiencing conflicts stemming from these suspicions for several years, culminating in the wife’s tragic decision to end her life. The incident occurred in the Baniyapara ward of the Kotwali police station area. The couple, who had migrated from Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh, for labor work, were identified as Surekha Ahuja and her husband. They were employed at a grocery store in the Jalampur ward and resided in a rented house. Their marriage had taken place approximately ten years prior, but the last two years were marred by constant suspicion between them. This led to frequent distrust and arguments. On Friday, Surekha was found to have committed suicide by hanging herself with a chunari (a type of scarf) at their home. Upon receiving the information, the Kotwali police promptly arrived at the scene and sent the body for a post-mortem examination to the district hospital. The police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the entire matter.
