Former US President Donald Trump has accused the United Nations of orchestrating a ‘triple sabotage’ against him during a recent event. The allegations stem from three incidents: an escalator malfunction, a teleprompter failure, and audio issues during his speech at the UN headquarters in New York. Trump has called for an investigation into the events, which he believes were not coincidental. The first incident involved an escalator that abruptly stopped as he and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni were ascending. Trump stated that they avoided injury only by holding onto the handrails, calling the event a ‘conspiracy.’ Later, during his address to the UN General Assembly, the teleprompter malfunctioned, forcing him to deliver a 57-minute speech without it. He also reported issues with the audio system, preventing many attendees from hearing his speech properly. Trump has requested the UN Secretary-General to investigate, including securing security camera footage from the escalator and involving the Secret Service. The UN responded, attributing the escalator stop to a safety mechanism triggered by a videographer, while the White House has stated that those responsible should be fired and investigated.
