A woman in Purnia, Bihar, delivered quadruplet daughters through normal delivery. The successful delivery was conducted by a team of doctors at the Baisi Primary Health Center. The mother, BB Haseerun, is 24 years old and already had four children (two sons and two daughters), bringing her total to eight children.
BB Haseerun was brought to the Baisi Primary Health Center with the help of an ASHA worker after experiencing premature labor pains. Upon arrival, the medical team examined the ultrasound report, which indicated three babies. The doctors and nurses were surprised, as delivering triplets is considered rare. The ANM and nursing staff prepared the woman mentally for a successful delivery, assuring her that it would be normal. After continuous counseling, her anxiety decreased.
During delivery, the first three daughters were born. Shortly after, movement was felt in the woman’s abdomen, and upon examination, another baby was found, despite not being mentioned in the ultrasound report. The team proceeded with extra caution and safely delivered the fourth daughter.
Following the delivery, both the mother and the four daughters were examined and found to be in good health. The news drew a large crowd of local people to the hospital, eager to catch a glimpse of the newborns. The mother’s husband, Kaiser Alam, mentioned that his wife is only 24 years old and now has a total of eight children after the birth of the quadruplets. He acknowledged the successful delivery was possible due to the care provided by the doctors and nurses.
The mother and the four daughters have been referred to Purnia Medical College for better care and medical supervision. Medical experts noted that while such cases are observed, a normal delivery resulting in four healthy babies is rare. While survival chances are often low in such instances, this case has set an example of hope and resilience.
