Now, Mohanlal is set to receive India’s highest honor in the field of cinema. The announcement confirmed that he will be awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award at the 71st National Film Awards ceremony. Following the news, congratulatory messages poured in, including from his close friend Mammootty and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Actor Mammootty, expressing his joy, remarked, “More than a friend, a brother, and an artist who has been a part of this glorious journey of cinema for decades. The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is not just for an actor, but for the true artist who has lived cinema. I am very happy on this occasion and I am proud of you, Lal. You truly deserve this crown.” Furthermore, Prithviraj Sukumaran, director and actor, commented, “Congratulations on winning the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. This is truly deserving for a legend who has been a part of the industry for decades.”
Mohanlal himself expressed his gratitude, stating, “I feel very honored to receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and I am grateful to everyone. I express my gratitude for the blessings of the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi. Your words have not only boosted my enthusiasm but have also filled me with joy. I am indebted to the cinema and the public for all the support I have received throughout my journey so far.” On the work front, his film ‘Hridayaswaroopam’ is currently running in theaters and has been doing well.
