A shocking and disturbing case of murder has emerged from Jehanabad, Bihar, where an elderly man was killed over a mere five rupees. The incident occurred in the Koko police station area of the district. The deceased, identified as Mousin Alam, was 70 years old and worked as a farmer. The murder has sparked outrage among the local population.
Angered residents blocked the National Highway in protest. After persistent efforts by the police, the blockade was lifted. The suspect in the murder is a vegetable market agent named Vicky Patel. It is alleged that Vicky Patel murdered Mousin. According to reports, agents from the market committee collect fees from vendors who come to sell their goods in the market.
According to reports, the elderly man was a vendor in the market. Along with him, many other people come to the market to sell their goods. According to media reports, the elderly man came to the market to sell vegetables on Wednesday, as he did every day. Vicky Patel, the market committee agent, demanded 15 rupees from the elderly man as a fee. The elderly man gave him 10 rupees, but the accused, Vicky, insisted that he needed five more rupees.
When the elderly man refused to pay the additional money, Vicky punched him hard in the chest. The elderly man immediately fell to the ground and died. Vicky then fled the scene. Following the death of the elderly man, people became enraged. They placed the elderly man’s body on the Jehanabad-Ekangsarai NH-33, blocked it, and began protesting.
This caused a long line of vehicles on both sides of the road. After about half an hour, administration officials arrived at the scene. Then, the people were assured that the accused had been identified, and he would be arrested soon. Only then did the people relent and the blockade was removed.
