Vietnam-based electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer VinFast entered the Indian market with the launch of its VF6 and VF7 models. The VF6 is priced starting at Rs 16.49 lakh and the VF7 at Rs 20.89 lakh. The company aims to compete with established players like Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, Tata Motors Ltd, and other Asian rivals, including BYD and SAIC Motor Corp India Joint Venture. CEO Pham Sanh Chau announced that the ‘Made in India’ vehicles are planned for distribution across South Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. VinFast initiated bookings for the VF6 and VF7 in July with a deposit of Rs 21,000. The company has partnered with 13 dealer groups to establish 32 dealerships across 27 cities and plans to expand to 35 dealerships by the end of 2025.
