A severe weather alert has been issued for Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh, with heavy rain and hail expected. For September 2nd, an orange alert has been issued for very heavy to heavy rain in specific districts. Many areas are expected to experience heavy showers. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain in 15 districts and warnings for 29 others, alongside potential thunderstorms and lightning. Schools in numerous districts, including Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, and Champawat, have been closed. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed officials to ensure public safety and monitor the situation. Tragically, two fatalities, including a woman, occurred in Tehri district on Sunday due to heavy rain. In Uttar Pradesh, a high rain forecast is in place for numerous districts. The IMD anticipates above-average rainfall in Uttar Pradesh during September. The capital, Lucknow, saw significantly higher rainfall in August. The forecast suggests a likelihood of normal or above-normal rainfall in central areas of the state, including the capital, during September.
