After considerable speculation, the timing of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to India has been confirmed. Putin will be visiting India in December, marking a return after nearly four years. Yuri Ushakov, foreign policy advisor to the Kremlin, made the announcement. Putin’s last visit to India was on December 6, 2021.
Yuri Ushakov also stated that President Putin will meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday in Tianjin, China, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, to discuss preparations for his India visit. Ushakov noted, “Immediately after the SCO plus meeting (on September 1), our President Putin will also meet with Prime Minister Modi.”
