Actress Shanti Priya, known for her role in the 1991 film ‘Saugandh’ with Akshay Kumar, has undergone a significant transformation over her 35-year career. She is set to star in the upcoming film ‘Badgirl,’ directed and written by Varsha Bharat and produced by Anurag Kashyap, scheduled for release on September 5th. Priya, who has worked in Tamil and Telugu cinema, debuted in Bollywood with ‘Saugandh.’ While the film was not a commercial success, its songs were well-received. She has also appeared in Hindi films like ‘Phool Aur Angaar,’ ‘Meherbaan,’ ‘Veerta,’ and ‘Sajna Saath Nibhana.’ Recently, the 55-year-old actress shaved her head, explaining that she did so to challenge conventional beauty standards and liberate herself from societal expectations. She shared these images on social media, surprising fans. Her hair has since begun to grow back, and she currently sports a boycut style. Shanti Priya married actor Siddharth Ray in 1999. Ray is known for his role as a police inspector in Shahrukh Khan’s film ‘Baazigar.’ Siddharth Ray passed away in 2004. She has two children, Shishya Ray and Shubham Ray, and has been a single mother since her husband’s death. Priya continues to act and has a successful career in Tamil and Telugu cinema, with more projects in the works.
